A delicious stew filled with shellfish and Cajun flavors, gumbo is a staple food along the Atlantic coast. And if you are looking for a chance to enjoy all the fresh seafood stew you can eat, there is no better time to visit Rehoboth Beach than in early March. A flavorful and fun annual event, this year’s Gumbo Crawl takes place on Saturday, March 5; so pack your bag and a pair of stretchy pants, and head down to Beach View Hotel!
This afternoon event costs only $10 to participate in, and you get to help choose the best gumbo! Starting at 2 p.m. on Saturday, you can visit any participating restaurant to pick up a ballot and start sampling stew. With 15 locations to visit, you are sure to be full by 5 p.m.
Last year’s winner was Purple Parrot Restaurant & Bar, so make sure you squeeze them into your schedule to see if this year’s gumbo is as good as the last.
Not only is the Gumbo Crawl a blast to participate in, it is also a great way to get yourself acquainted with the Rehoboth Beach area. Whether you are looking for restaurants to stop back at during the rest of your stay, or some cute shops to browse, there is plenty to see around town as you head from place to place on your gumbo tour.
