We are all well-aware of how important it is to recycle. Recycling will help to preserve our planet. Instead of unusable items going into landfills, where they often sit for hundreds of years, it is important that we recycle whatever we can to prevent that from happening.
However, sometimes it can be hard to put your passion for recycling into action. If you’re looking for some green inspiration, visit Lewes, Delaware, where you can participate in a recycling event on May 5, 2017.
The Annual RBDBCC Shred Event starts at 8am on May 5, 2017. The Rehoboth-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce is partnering with WSFS and the Chamber’s Green Force to host a “Shredding Event”. Both locals and visitors are being encouraged to bring their used paper to Bethany Blues for a free shredding service.
After doing some research, we found out that using recycled paper to produce new paper uses between 28 and 70 percent less energy. Recycling paper also saves tons of water, which is always a benefit to our environment. Plus, shredding paper (such as personal documents that are no longer relevant) is an important part of protecting our assets and identities.
People will be able to shred just about everything including paper-based print materials, x-rays, junk mail, old files, and more. Sound like a lot of work? It isn’t! You don’t even you don’t need to remove staples, rubber bands, paper clips, or folders before shredding. Just gather your items and bring them for a free shredding that will help to reduce your personal environmental impact. For more info about this event, call the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce at 302-227-6446 or visit the event website.
