Here at the Beach View Hotel, October is one of our favorite months. From the beautiful, changing leaves to the refreshing weather and fall themed activities, there is plenty to do and see throughout the Rehoboth Beach area. For families spending Halloween with us, we recommend taking a short trip to the Zwaanendael Museum in nearby Lewes, Delaware to take part in their special Halloween tour! Held on Saturday, October 31 this education event is a great way to get in the holiday spirit without scaring the kids too much.
The Mysteries of History tour begins at 2 p.m. at the museum and heads to St. Peter’s Cemetery to explore and investigate the old and unusual tombstones located there. Learn more about the area’s history, then head back to Zwaanendael Museum to explore some more! Admission is free and the building is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Named after the first European settlement in Delaware, this two story museum is filled with folk art and seaworthy pieces from across the Delaware shore. Learn about the British warship DeBraak and all that took place in Delaware during the War of 1812.
