There are five different 5Ks occurring nearby throughout the month of September, each of which offers you an opportunity to get active and explore your beautiful surroundings while supporting a great cause.
A part of the Ten Sisters of Dewey Beach Road Race Series, the 4th Annual Summer’s End 5K is the first race to be held during the month of September. Get started at Jimmy’s Grille in nearby Dewey Beach, then wind your way throughout the town before celebrating your success over good food and beer back at the restaurant.
This race benefits local groups including Dewey Beach Lifeguards, The Consortium in Lewes, The Tyanna Foundation and Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding. It will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2016. Click here to register.
Looking for an opportunity for your entire family to get active? Rylie’s Dog Days of Summer is a race for children and adults alike to participate in! Go for a flat, scenic run between Cedar and Market Street in nearby Lewes, Delaware, and then enjoy hot dogs and refreshments at American Legion Post 17.
The Kiddie K starts about 15 minutes before the adult 5K, giving you plenty of time to get your young ones out on the course before it’s time for you to start running! The race benefits Rylie’s Smile Foundation, a non-profit group that provides gifts and support to children undergoing treatments for life threatening diseases.

One of the longest running Delaware races, the Gary P. Lister Bottle & Cork Ten Miler/5K makes its way through both Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach (ending at Bottle & Cork Restaurant). Not only are you helping to support local groups including DB Lifeguarding and Sussex Consortium, you also get to spend your morning taking in the scenic view of favorite area locations like Henlopen Acres and the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.

The fifth annual event of its kind, the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware 5K Run/Walk is another family-friendly race option for your Rehoboth Beach vacation. Walk or run your way throughout nearby Lewes, Delaware while your children take part in the 1/10th mile Kiddie K with Ronald McDonald himself!
The post-race party will be held at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant and includes a family-fun area with tons of exciting games and activities for your children!

One of the most beautiful September race courses offered, the Inaugural Take Steps 5K/1 Mile Fun Walk is held along Cape Henlopen State Park’s Junction-Breakwater Trail.
A flat course with a scenic view, this race benefits the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Start your morning run at the Tanger Outlets and finish with the post-race party at Crooked Hammock Brewery. Enjoy good food, great drinks and listen to Chrome City Records DJ while waiting for the race results to come in!
