Dolphins are highly intelligent, intriguing creatures that can be found in oceans throughout the world. Many dolphins can be seen off the coast of Southern Delaware, and they are beautiful and exciting to watch.
Are you and your kids looking forward to dolphin spotting on your trip to the Rehoboth Beach area? Head to Cape Henlopen State Park to take part in their weekly dolphin watch! The tour takes place every Tuesday morning from June 16 to August 18, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. It lasts about an hour, and park rangers will teach you and your kids about dolphins and why they can be found off the Delaware shore.
This event is recommended for children age seven and up, and requires pre-registration, so call 302-645-6852 to reserve your spot today! The tour is $2 per person, and children must be accompanied by an adult. After your dolphin watch tour, enjoy a morning in the park and then head to Fort Miles Historical Area for a tour of the Battery 519 Museum.
This tour takes place Tuesday through Saturday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. all summer long. Also recommended for children age seven and up, the Battery 519 Museum tour costs $5 per person.
