Dear Valued Guest,
We have come to the end of another season and 2020 has proven to be a year for the history books. This year has reminded us of what’s important and one of those is our relationships. Our guests are more than guests. Whether you are a long-time guest or you stayed for the first time this season, you are now considered part of the Beach View family.
In a time of a global pandemic, thank you for trusting us to be your safe haven at the beach. Our opening was delayed by two months due to state mandated closures and restrictions. We used this time to ensure that when we reopened we could provide a safe and healthy environment for each of you. Although we were inundated with cancellations and furloughs to 2021, when we did reopen on June 1st you ensured that we still had a stable season. While it was great to welcome so many new faces this season, it was refreshing to see some old friends as well.
Speaking of old friends, 2020 brought the retirement of long time General Manager Adele Powers. She retired to Florida on August 15, 2020. I had the pleasure of working with her during the 2019 season and I know how much you loved her. I also know how much she loved and appreciated each of you. She will truly be missed, but she definitely deserves this new chapter. We have spoken and I can tell you that she is loving retirement!
I only became the General Manager of Beach View on August 16 but it has truly been a pleasure welcoming each of you this season. The high level of service had already been set and I wanted to maintain the same quality that was already being delivered.
The team welcomed me with open arms and I had no doubt that they would as we worked sided by side in 2019. My goal coming in was to ensure a seamless transition for team members and guests. You all made my new role rewarding with your well wishes and kind words.
Although this season had some unique challenges, we were able to deliver noteworthy stays while keeping some of the special touches that our guests have come to love and expect. To-go breakfast had a few struggles, but we finally found our rhythm. We found a way to offer 24 hour coffee and tea and the coffee lovers definitely showed their appreciation. Stayover service was suspended, but many of you welcomed and appreciated that change this year.
What stayed consistent was our commitment to excellent, friendly customer service and cleanliness. Whether you joined us this year for your yearly beach break, family vacation, anniversary, birthday, girls trip, guys trip, solo trip, couples weekend, or a break from cabin fever, THANK YOU!
What can you expect for the 2021 season? Breakfast will be revamped and we will be looking to offer more options. Coffee may be coming from a new vendor and I think the coffee connoisseurs will appreciate that.
We are developing packages that will enhance your future stay even more. Our commitment to excellent customer service in a clean environment won’t change. If it does, it will be heightened to ensure the guest experience is the best it can be.
Thank you again for trusting us to be your home away from home, your refuge, your peaceful place, your sanctuary, your meeting spot, and your beach break this year. Your business and the countless wonderful reviews are appreciated.
It is our goal to ensure that every guest that walks through our doors is able to have an enjoyable, relaxing, and memorable stay. Your loyalty, support, and friendship has always been valued, but even more so in 2020.
I trust that each of you will have a great winter and holiday season! We will see you on March 25, 2021! Stay safe and healthy.
Yours in Hospitality,
Jason D. Mathis-White
