If you have booked your stay at the Beach View Hotel looking for natural beauty and fun in the sun, you have come to the right place! But did you know that the Southern Delaware coast is rich in history as well as natural beauty? Our residents are proud of their nautical history and celebrate it during the Annual Boast the Coast Maritime Festival.
On Saturday, September 30, 2017, residents and vacationers will gather for a special day presented by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce. The festivities begin at 11 am in 1812 Park and the City Dock. Go to the drawbridge at City Dock for free tours on the New Jersey Tall Ship and short history tours will be leaving on the Cape Water Taxi at 11 am and 1 pm.
Hungry? Check out the perennially popular seafood tasting from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm in the park, which will take place alongside fun and educational kids’ activities.
Even if you have been to Boast the Coast before, you are sure to find something new to enjoy, like the all-new Lewes Oktoberfest, taking place in Lewes Canal Front Park from 2 to 6 in the afternoon. Enjoy a cold German brew along with some traditional food, while listening to the sounds of a German OomPah Band. Perhaps you will even be inspired to cut a rug – there will be dancing!
If you are an early-to-rise type, there is no need to wait until 11 to come to Lewes. From 9 am to noon, you can browse local and artisanal foods and other products at the Historic Lewes Farmers Market in the Shields Elementary School parking lot. If you are a gardener, you can check out the Lewes in Bloom Fall Plant Sale on Second Street in front of Citizens Bank beginning at 8:30 am. Crafters will love the Lewes Historical Society Craft Show on the Society’s campus from 9 am to 4 pm and shoppers of all stripes will enjoy the Historic District Merchants’ Fall Sidewalk Sale from 10 am to 5 pm.
There is no better place for all this fun than the Beach View Hotel. Book your stay today and get the best value in Rehoboth Beach!
